Rawson-Saunders offers a variety of summer programs that focus on maintaining skills, exploring new ideas, and having fun.   Summer programs for 2010 are

 

Soaring Eagles

The Soaring Eagles Summer Academy was developed to help learning disabled students, grades 1 through 8, maintain their language arts and math skills while increasing their self-esteem. Students participate in small group, hands-on activities in math, language arts, organized games/movement, keyboarding, and science or creative problem solving. Full and half-day programs are available.

Summer 2010 session dates:

 Session I   June 7 - June 18
 Session II   June 21 - July 2
 Session III    July 12 - July 23

The full-day program meets daily from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The half-day program also meets daily, from 9 a.m. to noon.  Extended care to 5 p.m. is available for campers in the full-day program.

Tuition per session:

 Half day   $375
 Full day   $600
 ALT   $300

Jumpstart First Grade

The Jumpstart program has been specially designed for learning disabled students entering first grade in the fall.  The program is based on the highly-successful Soaring Eagles program for older students.  Jumpstart  is a half-day program with a full-day option.  The half-day program meets from 9 a.m. to noon, and full-day continues to 3:30 p.m.

Summer 2010 session: The four-week session runs from June 21 through July 2 and continues July 12 through July 23. 

Tuition for the four-week, half-day program is $1050.

Math Camp

Fill in the gaps in a student's math understanding with engaging activities which keep learning fun!  Weekly camps are small, grade-level content groups taught by Singapore Math instructors.

Tuition per one-week camp session is $250 plus a $25 curriculum fee.

Camp sessions are:

June 14 - 18    10 a.m. - noon   Grades 3 & 4
 June 21 - 25  2 - 4 p.m.  Grades 5 & 6
 July 5 - 9  10 a.m. - noon  Grade 1 & 2
 July 19 - 23  10 a.m. - noon  Grade 7
 August 2 - 6  10 a.m. - noon  Grade 8

Science Camp

Discover, explore, learn!  Science Camp is open to all students, 9 -12 years old.  Each one-week camp meets from 9 a.m. - noon, and tuition is $200 which includes all materials and a morning snack.

Forensic Science Camp - June 21 - 25

Who stole the Mona Lisa?  Who murdered Colonel Mustard? Solve crimes using crime scene investigation techniques: fingerprinting, ballistics, blood types, fiber and hair analysis!

Building Design Camp - June 28 - July 2
